A Totaled '89 S-10 Revives Itself Into A Beast!

Just one look at this Blazer and you know, Marty Goldberg puts some of the WILD in Wildwood, Missouri. This '89 S-10 was purchased new off the lot for $29,000 and salvaged for a lot less - after it had been totalled in 1992. Twenty years of sky-high truckin' convinced Marty that his blazer could not die! After some consultation with wife Julie, the decision was made to turn mild - into WILD!
An entirely new frame was eased under the body while most of the panels were getting replaced. The new frame had all the unused holes filled and ground smooth. A few openings were left to attach the engine. The original 4.3 litre V-6 was bored .030 over for a block freshening by Gary Duckworth Racing. It was fitted with TRW rods, bearings and pistons along with a forged crank for 13-to-1 compression. Marty runs 110-octane gasoline so the engine won't choke. The heads were left intact with stock valves and rockers actuated by a BDS Cam.
There were more surprises to come from BDS - joy of joys - a BDS blower. Wrench buddy Pat Roberts helped with the install and got greasy. After a pair of balanced and blue printed Edelbrock 500 CFM carbs, topped with K&N filters were bolted to a BDS intake manifold, Marty's Blazer now pumps out 450 HP!
